Always speak friendly to people when you need something from them (whether you are rich or poor). Don't treat them beneath you just because you are richer/better off than they are. In life you never know, what comes around goes around.

Have few, but good friends. Those who don't look for your company only then when you are rich, but also in terms where you are in trouble and not rich anymore.

Appreciate your (whether rich or poor) father as long as he is alive. Should you not inherit any money from him, you should still miss HIM more than his MONEY.
